Why isn't it possible to have a negative number greater than a square root?

because negative numbers are less than zero. and no matter if the radical(?) is positive or negative the answer will always be positive and greater than zero

this isn't possible because like travis said a negative is less than 0 and that cant be greater than any number that is square rooted

Whether you own a TI 84 or other graphic calculator, change the real numbers to imaginary (a + bi), and then you will, in a different reality called imaginary numbers be able to get a REAL number that is indeed imaginary, using i=(-1)^.5
